Article from Dog Time "American Bully"
The American Bully is a modern breed from the United States purposefully developed as the ultimate family companion through meticulous selective breeding in the 1990s. The American Bully was developed by crossing various Bulldog and Terrier breeds, including the American Pit Bull Terrier and the American Staffordshire Terrier, among others. While sharing ancestry with both Pitbulls and Bulldogs, the American Bully has evolved into a breed with its own unique characteristics and standards. This breed comes in various sizes and types, including Standard, Classic, Pocket, and American XL Bully.
Known for their strong and muscular appearance, American Bullies have a stocky build, broad head, and a short, glossy coat. Despite their intimidating looks, the American Bully temperament is friendly, sociable, and happy. They are also loyal and protective of their families, often making them excellent watchdogs. Proper socialization and training are essential to ensure they grow into well-behaved and well-adjusted dogs.
The American Bully is a confident and outgoing breed known for its stable and loving nature towards people, making it an affectionate family pet. They are highly tolerant of children, eager to please, and generally have a pleasant temperament. The American Bully is physically impressively muscular and agile, suitable for various tasks. They are courageous and protective of their owners and property but require thorough socialization to manage any potential dog-aggressive tendencies. Effective ownership involves establishing clear rules and boundaries to achieve pack leader status, as dogs naturally seek a pack order in their human family.
YES! Our goal is to only breed the healthiest bullies possible. We embark test our dogs and require the studs we use to be embark tested as well. View our bullies Embark results under the "Our Bullies" tab.
Our females also have regular vet check-ups as well as a thorough exam and vaginal cytology prior to breeding. Our dogs health is our top priority!
We expect a litter every 4-6 months, depending on our girls' heat cycles and health of course.
